Featured in this lot is an Original Signed Paul Krapf Oil on Board "American Southwest Canyon", 1976, framed. This oil on board painting displays a solitary horseback rider in a Southwest American desert canyon area. The stark landscape is dominated by earthy colours of reddish browns. Paul Krapf (1927-2019) was a wildlife and landscape artist from Gardiner, Montana at the southern end of the beautiful Paradise Valley north of majestic Yellowstone National Park. His house and studio were built along the Yellowstone River 11 miles north of the park. The inhabitants of Yellowstone National Park were his frequent subjects. He also produced coastal views, especially Oregons, as well as Western scenes and landscapes. The deserts of the American Southwest include the Great Basin, Mojave, Colorado and Sonoran. This beautiful oil on board painting is in very nice condition overall, signed and dated on bottom left corner. Visible art measures 23"W x 29.25"L, frame is 26.5"W x 32.5"L x 2"D. Weight is 7lb, 4oz.
