Over several decades, he assembled a refined private collection, focusing on modern European masters, particularly works acquired in Paris and Vienna. According to family records, this painting was purchased in Paris at Galerie Jeanne Bucher, a reputable mid-20th-century gallery known for handling modernist and avant-garde works.
