Luis de Madrazo y Kuntz (Madrid, 1825 -1897) “‘Portrait of Luis Andriani y Rosique, Infantry Colonel and Lieutenant Governor of Trinidad, Cuba with the Morro Castle of Havana in the background.’' Oil on canvas. Signed and dated 1867. 113 x 82 cm.    Accompanied by a gilded stucco period frame. Luis Andriani y Rosique was an infantry colonel and lieutenant governor of Trinidad, Cuba, in 1854. He was baptized in the Cathedral of Matanzas in Havana. His parents were Luis María Andriani y Escofet (1773–1865) and Francisca de Paula Rosique.    Provenance: By inheritance, the painting has always remained in the same family descended from Luis Adriani y Rosique. Attached are two photographs from the time of the soldier, one of them in a photographic studio in which we see on the left a decorative panel with the Castle of San Carlos de la Habana (Castillo del Morro).
