Paris-born painter and decorative artist, Charlemagne studied at the École de Montparnasse and Académie de la Grande Chaumière. His career encompassed painting, theatre décor, ceramics, and illustration, with regular exhibitions at the Salon des Indépendants and Salon d'Automne. Known for his figurative and Art Deco-inspired works, he was awarded the Prix Blumenthal in 1923 and later named an Officer of the Légion d'honneur.
