A Chinese Scroll Painting by Chen Shao Mei Wide:1200cm Height:32.5cmChen Shaomei (April 1909 to September 1954), male, Han nationality, named Yunzhang, also known as Yunquai, with the name Shenghu and the character Shaomei, was born into a family of scholars in Hengshan, Hunan.He is a modern painter.I have been learning calligraphy, painting, poetry, and literature with my father since childhood, deeply influenced by traditional Chinese culture.At the age of 15, he joined the "Chinese Painting Research Association" initiated and organized by Jin Beilou, Chen Shizeng, and others.At the age of 17, he became the backbone of the famous "Hu Society Painting Association", and at the age of 22, he presided over the "Hu Society Tianjin Branch", becoming a leader in the Jinmen painting industry.In 1930, his works won the Silver Award for Fine Arts at the "Belgium Centenary International Expo", and since then he has made his mark in the art world, becoming an influential painter in the Beijing Tianjin area.After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, he served as the Chairman of the Tianjin Branch of the Chinese Artists Association and the Principal of Tianjin Art School.
