A VERY RARE DOUCAI PEAR-SHAPED 'KUI XING' VASE Shi jin tang zhi four-character mark, Shunzhi Finely potted with pear-shaped body rising from a short foot to wide cylindrical neck, expertly painted and enamelled around the exterior with Kui Xing riding the back of the mythical ao or dragon-fish, his right arm raised holding a brush, the left clasping an ingot, clad in a loincloth and billowing scarves beside the North Star, the reverse with a poetic inscription and seal, all beneath the mouth rim with a band of triangles. 22cm (8 1/2in) high.
