A SUPERB AND LAGRE BLUE AND WHITE 'BIRDS' BRUSHPOT, BITONG Shunzhi Sturdily potted, the large cylindrical vessel exquisitely painted in vibrant tones of cobalt-blue around the exterior with a continuous scene of three quails on a large rock issuing chrysanthemums and bamboo, together with other birds and butterflies, a pheasant amidst a gnarled rock issuing peonies and orchids, all between incised borders at the foot and mouth. 26.7cm (10 1/2in) high.
