Giuseppe Amisani, Mede PV 1881 - Portofino GE 1941 (Mede PV 1881 - Portofino GE 1941) - Giuseppe Amisani was born on December 7, 1881, in Mede Lomellina, a small town in the province of Pavia. After beginning technical studies in Pavia, he moved to Milan in 1895 to devote himself entirely to painting, under the guidance of sculptor Ferdinando Bialetti. Later, he enrolled at the Brera Academy, where he refined his art with masters Cesare Tallone and Vespasiano Bignami. In 1908, with the painting L'Eroe, he won the Mylius Prize, which introduced him to the Milanese art scene, while in 1912 his portrait of the actress Lyda Borelli earned him the Fumagalli Prize, consolidating his reputation as a talented portraitist.In 1920, he participated in the Venice Biennale, where he exhibited his self-portrait, which was later acquired by the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. His art ranged from female portraits to landscapes, particularly views of the Italian Alps, Rhodes and Tunisia. In 1924, Amisani was invited to Egypt to decorate the royal palace of Ras al-Tin and to portray the young King Farouk, further evidence of his international prestige.His works are now held in museums in several cities, including Bari, Piacenza and Lima, Peru.
