Lodovico Raymond, Torino 1825 - 1898 (Torino 1825 - 1898) - Lodovico Raymond was born in Turin in 1825 and died in 1898. He trained at the Accademia Albertina in Turin under Carlo Arienti. Later, he moved to Florence, where he stayed for five years and came into contact with the Macchiaioli group, an artistic movement that profoundly influenced his production. In 1861 he participated in the National Exhibition in Florence with a work with a monastic character, a theme that would characterize much of his career. Many of his works were purchased by the Royal Household, and in the 1970s he produced a series of works set in the atmosphere of Venice, a city he visited several times. In addition to painting landscapes and views, he also devoted himself to depicting historical and literary scenes. His works are now preserved in public and private collections, and continue to be appreciated for their refinement and artistic sensitivity.
