Carlo Costantino Tagliabue, Bresso (MI) 1880 - Milano 1960 (Bresso (MI) 1880 - Milan 1960) - The painter Carlo Costantino Tagliabue was born in Affori (Milan) in 1880 and died in Milan in 1960. Having learned drawing in the Schools of Decoration in Milan, he was first a decorator, then a copyist in the various picture galleries and galleries studying and reproducing mainly the masters of antiquity. After these experiences, he devoted himself only to landscapes and seascapes. He debuted at the Milanese Permanente, in 1905; then he frequently participated in the Brera Biennials and other national exhibitions. He favored mountain landscapes, which he rendered with Segantinian tendencies, and two such works were purchased by the Banca Commerciale Italiana; some seascapes, including "La mareggiata" were purchased by the King. Other paintings are preserved in Italy and abroad, in institutions and private individuals. Also cited by him are "Under the Clouds," and several frescoes of a religious nature. At the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Milan there are "Notturno" and "Plenilunio a Venezia".Biographical notes taken from the Dizionario Illustrato dei Pittori, Disegnatori ed Incisori Italiani A.M. Comanducci.
