His ancestral lands were Nganturn and Walu. Raised in the traditional way, he and his family lived off the land in the challenging conditions of the Gibson Desert. Over time, Tommy emerged as a ceremonial leader among the Ngaanyatjarra people. In addition to his painting, he was well-known for his skill in carving ceremonial weapons. Tommy's paintings beautifully capture the elemental forces of nature, intertwining the physical and ancestral aspects of the landscape. This piece depicts sacred men's Tingari sites located on his father's country. This piece is a fine example of an Australian Aboriginal artwork.
