작품 상세

Theodorus Bohres (active period: 1815 - 1830), 'Wedding portrait of Mr Johannes Theodorus Luijckx ('s-Hertogenbosch 1800 - 1875)', signed (difficult to read) 'T: Bohres' and dated '1821' bottom right. Verso: label with family tree Luyckx - Gulick - Calkoen. On the long side on the right of the paper you can read '[…]and' & 'Sociëteit te Boxtel'. Mr Luijckx lived in 's-Hertogenbosch all his life. There he was a pin manufacturer, alderman, chairman of the Noordbrabantse Maatschappij voor Nijverheid and chairman of the De Unie society. In 1821 he married Ida Henrica van Pelt (1802-1862) (daughter of Antonius and Elisabeth van Son). (Source: Maarten Duijvendak, Rooms, rijk of regentesk, 's-Hertogenbosch 1990, p. 328). The marriage was probably the reason for the portrait.
