American, 1851-1938 Standing Portrait of an Artist (possibly a self-portrait) Initialed S.M.E. (ll) Oil on canvas 21 3/4 x 13 1/2 inches (55.2 x 34.3 cm) (Frame dimensions: 26 1/2 x 18 1/2 inches) The canvas is cut unevenly and relined along the edges. There is surface cracking throughout the work though the surface appears to be stable. Few strokes of inpainting visible under UV light inspection.
