Mid 19th century portrait of a light blue eyed gentleman with elegant cravat pin, turned on a 3/4 angle. Attributed to artist Chester Earles (unsigned). The sitter is William Chester, born 15th August 1769. Oil on canvas, 59.5 x 49cm (image), 80 x 69cm (frame). Craquelure throughout, paint chips especially at upper centre, would benefit from restoration. Ornate gilt frame in aged condition, includes biographical and provenance information on a label affixed to the back. Available for local pickup, otherwise courier to be arranged and paid for by bidder.
