Terry Burke (British, 1927 - 2018), "Brioc [Brixham]," watercolor on paper, signed lower right and titled lower left, measures 10.25 x 29.25 inches to the matt edge, 14.75 x 33.50 inches framed. CONDITION: Good. Burke was born in Bradford and studied at Bradford College, then at the Leeds College of Art. After his Army discharge Terry qualified as an art teacher and started teaching at Dagenham, East London, but gave up on health reasons. In 1956 he moved to Torquay and the following year moved to Brixham, Devon, where he made his home, established a studio, and gained a following for his paintings of West Country harbour and other coastal scenes.
