Gaetano Dura, Italian, 1805 to 1878, gouache painting on paper depicting a peasant carriage close to Vesuvius. Signed by the artist lower left. Oval matted and framed. Gaetano Dura worked and lived in Naples, Italy. In the 1830s he joined the lithographer and publisher Federico Gatti. This partnership gave rise to a prolific print business, primarily devoted to the publication of popular prints describing the everyday life of Naples. Antique Gouache Paintings For Collectors.
