Antonín Waldhauser was one of the excellent landscape painters and as an illustrator he contributed to Golden Prague. In his early work, he dealt with historical painting, but later painted almost exclusively landscapes in southern and eastern Bohemia and Moravia. He also painted winter motifs and did not avoid the industrial periphery. Both winter landscapes of the chamber format represent a representative example of Waldhauser's manuscript.
