This mysteriously restful and yet haunting image gives us a window into the artist's spiritual eye. In his true minimalist style, the Canning Stock Route, a black line bordered by white dots, surrounds and frames a richly vivid image of the Great Sandy Desert. Rover indicated that the sparse ethereal washed ground created in broad brushstrokes depicted sand patterns and changing lights in the vast desert landscape.
