An oil on canvas painting depicting a Venetian canal scene near Doge's Palace by French artist, Al. Thevenin (19th Century). The artist’s signature is present to the lower left-hand corner and name is also present to a plaque affixed to the gold gilt wooden frame. Hardware is present to the verso for hanging. The painting belonged to the estate of Levey Brothers Company businessman, Louis H. Levey. Mr. Levey died in 1934 and the painting was acquired by the Indianapolis Medical Society (est. 1848) after the death of Mrs. Meta Levey in 1959.
