An oil on canvas painting depicting a “Dr. Taylor” by Hoosier artist William Cary Brazington (1865-1914). This painting is presented in an ornately carved gold gilt wooden frame with hardware present to the verso for hanging. Artist’s signature “W.C. Brazington 1897” is present to the lower right-hand corner. The painting belonged to the estate of Levey Brothers Company businessman, Louis H. Levey. Mr. Levey died in 1934 and the painting was acquired by the Indianapolis Medical Society (est. 1848) after the death of Mrs. Meta Levey in 1959.
