About the artist: Tom Marioni, (American 1937- ), studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy from 1955 to 1959 after which he settled in San Francisco, CA where he still lives. His work includes installation art, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and film. Marioni's first show was held at the Oakland Museum in 1970. He has since exhibited his works in many venues. Marioni was the founding director of the Museum of Conceptual Art in San Francisco, (1970-1984). Marioni's works are held in many institutions including the Oakland Museum, the Santa Barbara Museum, the Newport Harbor Art Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the deYoung Museum, San Francisco, CA, and Mills College Art Museum, Oakland, CA.
