ZHOU SICONG (1939-1996) China, Oct. 1973 100 x 66 cm Young woman with a basket full of persimmon riding a mule in a snowstorm. Ink and colours on paper, mounted as a hanging scroll. Signature: "October 1973, Sicong" and two artist's seals: "Zhou", "Si". From a South German Noble private collection, acquired prior to 1995 Zhou Sicong (1939-1996) from Tianjin graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1963. Sie was a first level painter of figures and portraits, especially of minority women from China's southwestern highlands. She was a vice-chairman of the China Fine Artists Association and has been published and exhibited across China, in Japan, and in other parts of Asia Minor wear, one light stain
