Jörg Sasse (b. 1962) Jörg Sasse was a master student of Bernd Becher at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf and held a lectureship there in the 1980s. In the 2000s he worked as a professor for documentary photography at the Folkwang University of the Arts. For his artistic work, Sasse often uses photographic works from amateur photographers or his own shots of everyday objects, which he collages, alienates and digitizes. In so doing, Sasse plays with the representation of reality, which is supposed to irritate the viewer. The arbitrary titles, which consist mostly of numeric combinations, underline this effect of alienation. Works by Sasse can be found at The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Städel Museum in Frankfurt, amongst othres. Sasse lives and works in Brandenburg.
