An early 20th century oil on canvas, thatched cottages beside a canal, signed lower right. Sight size through the frame is 21 x 28.5, the frame measures 28 x 35.75 inches. Frederick Ede was an American artist living in France who also exhibited in Montreal and Boston. A partial exhibition tag verso reads 'Galeries Georges Petit, Paris, 31 October - 15 November 1928.'
