Acrylic on canvas Norbert Tadeusz (1940-2011) - German Painter Signed and dated 'Tadeusz 01' on the reverse canvas Dimensions: 120 x 100 cm Strip-framing: 122 x 102.5 cm Provenance: Private collection, Rhineland With his objective paintings, dealing with the human body Norbert Tadeusz is considered one of the most important artists of the postwar figuration Nobert Tadeusz paintings are known for their impressive color energy and the depiction of human bodies in confusing perspective and extreme positions. But even seemingly trivial motifs as cornfields or fruit stalk of a banana as in the present can be found in his often irritating compositions. Condition: The painting is in very good condition. The frame shows slight traces of use. Norbert Tadeusz (1940-2011) Norbert Tadeusz was born 1940 in Dortmund. He started his education in 1960 at the Werkkunstschule in Dortmund under Gustav Deppe, followed by studies at the Düsseldorf Kunstakademie under Gerhard Hoehme and Joseph Fassbender. In 1966 he graduated as a master student of Joseph Beuys. After his graduation he held lectureships at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf for its department in Münster that eventually resulted in a professorship a little later. He further lectured as a professor at the Staatliche Akademie der Künste in Karlsruhe as well as the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin and Braunschweig.
