MESDAG-VAN HOUTEN, Sientje (Dutch 1834 - 1909). Still life with violets. Oil on panel, signed with initials 'SMvH' (upper left); framed in contemp. frame with Kunsthandel Huisman Den Haag label on the reverse (transferred by the restaurateur on board for preservation). Professionally restored by Michel van de Laar in 2012 (a copy of restoration report available): cleaned, re-varnished and sl. retouched; unobtrusive craquelure throughout, sl. dusted with two small superficial stains.
