Acrylic on canvas Signed lower left Titled and dated, 1996 to frame verso 25 x 25 cm. (9 7/8 x 9 7/8 in) Amos Yaskil was born in Haifa, Israel in 1935. A self-taught artist, Yaskil was noticed at the young age, by author Arnold Zweig, who interviewed the artist at at length for a British newspaper. Superlatives such as "the Mozart-like, wonder-child-of-painting" and "young genius" were used repeatedly to describe the then 13 year-old Yaskil.
