The tempera drawing is besides that in good condition. The dimensions of the sheet are 38 x 48.5 cm and the frame measures 45 x 55.7 cm. Alexis Akrithakis (1939-1994) After studying painting in Athens and Paris, Alexis Akrithakis moved to Berlin in 1966. Besides painting, graphic art and object art he was also occasionally involved in book illustration and stage design. His early work was influenced by Ancient Mexican art and changed in the 1920s under the impression of Paul Klee and collage and became almost abstract. Since around 1973, works of wood were created more often. Akrithakis was in contact with the artist group ‘Pali’ in Greece, which since then caused miniature-like compositions of abstract signs and geometric symbols.
