Delattre’ and dated ‘1834’ lower left Dimensions: 98 x 131 cm Stucco frame: 129 x 165 cm Good condition, consistent with age Large Arcadian landscape with a ruin and grazing animals in the typical style of the painter  Condition: The painting is in good condition, consistent with age. The paint surface shows slight overall craquelure, the varnish is somewhat discolored, stained at the left margin respectively. The edges show partial framing marks. The frame bears some bumps and paint losses to the corners and edges as well as partial repairs. The canvas measures 98 x 131 cm. The total dimensions, including the frame of 129 x 165 cm. Henri Delattre (1801-1876) Since 1824 the autodidact Henri Delattre exhibited regularly in the salons of Paris. Landscape scenes with animal staffages, animal pieces and rider portraits are his preferred subjects. After 1848 he is also active in the United States and Canada.
