Abdur Rahman Chughtai (Pakistani,1897-1975), "Untitled (Woman with Oil Lamp)", watercolor painting on paper, signed lower left. Figural painting depicting a beautiful young woman in near profile wearing ornate gold and jewelry and orange and red flowing gown holding a fiery oil lamp in both hands as she watches moths by the flame. Framed approximately 28.75" x 33.75". Unframed approximately 21.75" x 26.5". Provenance: Sold by Arif Rahman Chughtai (the artist's son and director of Chughtai Museum in Lehore, Pakistan to the Former United States Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Benjamin Oehlert, Atlanta, Georgia thence by descent to his family.
