The current highest auction record for a similar painting by Ivanoff is more than €126,000 Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 4,000 Euro Condition: The painting is in good overall condition with a dent in the right background, pressure marks from the stretcher, minor abrasion and a faint thinning of the canvas. The inspection under UV light reveals minor strokes of retouching to the teddy and larger touch-ups to the lower left. The frame shows slight signs of wear. The size of the painting is 55 x 47 cm, while the frame measures 68 x 60.5 cm. Serge Petrovitch Ivanoff (1893-1983) Born in Moscow, Serge Ivanoff studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture from 1917. In 1922, he went to Paris, escaping the Bolsheviks. From 1960 to circa 1970, he undertook several trips to the United States and eventually returned to France. He painted mostly portraits, among them some well-known names such as Paul Valéry, Eleanor Roosevelt and Pope Pius XI.
