Continental School, mid 20th century. "The Dance", oil on masonite board, apparently unsigned. Allegorical painting reminiscent of Sandro Botticelli's (Italian, 1445-1510), "Primavera" in its subject matter, a well painted impressionist scene depicting seven classical women dressed in pastel colored robes holding hands and dancing in foreground, with orange trees in background and mountainous terrain in distance with white house at center and approaching storm clouds above. Framed approximately 34.25" x 53.5". Unframed approximately 28.25" x 46.5".
