Olaf C. Seltzer is a listed and highly collected artist who portrayed the west on canvas as he saw it and lived it in Montana at the turn of the century. He was close friends with Charles M. Russell. This watercolor/gouache, entitled "Montana Trail Boss" has provenance written on the back "This O.C. Seltzer was purchased from the artist by general Nathan Twining who was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs... When General Twining died it was inherited by his son". The sight size is 15.25" x 10.25" and signed lower left. The frame is gold with a white linen liner, a gold fillet and the watercolor is under glass. The approximate dimensions of the frame are 24.25" x 19.25" x 1.75". The approximate weight is 13 lbs.
