Very good condition This colorful painting by Jean Richardson in shades of blue, purple and pink shows a lone, white abstract figure, possibly a horse. Horses are a common motif in Richardson's work, who regularly portrays great, white horses in motion among a swirling mass of color. Executed in 1989, this acrylic on canvas painting is signed and dated. It measures 30 x 22 inches and is in overall good condition. Jean Richardson (American, b. 1940) Jean Richardson studied at Wesleyan College in Macon, where she earned her BFA degree. She went on to study with the Art Students League in New York. Richardson's abstract paintings of horses remind one of the ancient cave paintings of Lascaux, mixed with twentieth century modernism. Richardson is credited in the books "Who's Who in America" and "Who's Who in the South and Southwest" and her work has been exhibited at the National Academy of Design and the Minnesota Museum of Art.
