DRAWINGS, WATERCOLOURS & GOUACHES - SIERHUIS, Jan (Dutch 1928). Flamenco. Gouache on paper, signed and dated 'Jan Sierhuis 07' (lower left), framed under passe-partout behind glass, image size 65 x 50 cm., frame size 96 x 79 cm. In the middle of the 1960s the style of Jan Sierhuis switched from abstract expressionism towards more figurative depiction of dancers, portraits and landscapes. Spending his vacations in Spain, he became passionate about flamenco, which served as inspiration for many of his paintings.
