John Emms (British, 1843-1912) The New Forest Buckhounds Meet at Lyndhurst Bench signed lower right "J Emms" oil on canvas h:75 w: 114 cm John Emms lived in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, from 1881, after marrying Fanny Primmer of Lyndhurst. They built a house and studio there, where Emms lived for the rest of his life; he dies in 1912 and is buried in Lyndhurst Cemetery
