Oil on wood panel Housed in its original Max Kuehne paint decorated wood frame (with loss to paint decoration which has been collected in attached bag) Signed lower left "Kuehne" Signed & titled on verso, also partial typed label with artist & title NOTE: Max Kuehne designed & crafted this frame with incised decoration & silver gilding. A similar process to his friend & protege Charles Prendergast. REFERENCE: Antique American Frames by Eli Wilner, page 159 SIZE: 20" x 24". Overall: 27-1/2" x 31-3/4" PROVENANCE: A gift from the artist for services rendered & descending through the Allen Family of Rockport, Massachusetts CONDITION: Original surfaces, in need of cleaning.
