DESCRIPTION: Nicholas Briganti (Italian/American, 1861-1944). Oil on canvas. View of Venice. Signed at the lower right corner "N. Briganti". In wood and gesso frame with scroll detailing and traces of gold paint. Active in New Bedford, Massachusetts between 1893 and 1897, Nicholas Briganti painted luminous landscapes of bucolic scenes as well as figure and human activity. MEASUREMENTS: 27-3/8" x 37-3/8". Overall with frame 34-1/4" x 44-1/4". CONDITION: Craquelure and toning throughout. Wear to frame.
