Other Notes: Remembered as the "First Lady of the American Theater", Helen Hayes (1900-1993) remains among the elite group of actors to have won an Emmy, Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award. This painting by Chaplin was a personal favorite among her collection, and purportedly hung in her bedroom of Pretty Penny, her Victorian house on the Hudson River in Nyack, New York.
