Watercolour and blue and black chalk on chamois-coloured ribbed laid paper with watermarks "INGRES (MADE IN ITALY)" and "CM FABRIANO" 48.1 x 62.9 cm, framed under glass. Signed and dated 'Heckel 57' lower right as well as titled '- See zwischen Bergen -' (Lake between Mountains) lower left. We would like to thank Hans Geissler, Estate Erich Heckel, Erich Heckel Foundation, Hemmenhofen, for his kind information. Provenance Gift from Sidi Heckel (1972) to the previous owner, since then in family possession According to Hans Geissler, the watercolour depicts Lake Sils in Upper Engadin.
