"Reliable", A well-worn shovel glints in the sun, contrasting in texture with the rough stone wall behind it. Contemporary realist Eric G. Thompson has just one creative focus: light. "As a child, I would search out a patch of light entering the room and sit there forever in total bliss," the artist says. "I feel that every one of my paintings is a study of light or lack thereof. This can be very powerful in a painting."
