"Ascending Sunlight", Shows the interplay of light and shadow across an old, creaky staircase. Utah valley artist Eric G. Thompson focuses on the way light plays across simple objects and resting figures. Once we've surrendered to his peaceful sensibility, old recollections and associations begin to bubble up. "A painting needs to remind someone of something in their life that they have forgotten," says the contemporary realist.
