MARK TOBEY (1890-1976, WA) TEMPERA PAINTING ON PAPER - Signed on lower right, the abstract painting with "white writing" is titled "Sharp Field." Foster/White Gallery label, reverse. In 1961, Tobey was the first American painter ever to exhibit at the Louvre's Pavilion de Marsan in Paris. Part of The Northwest School, Tobey's work is in numerous major collections. Condition good; older tear at center, surface wear upper right. Dated 1960. 6.5" x 9.5" image, 13" x 16" framed.
