Frantisek Kupka (Cz., 1871-1957), A Study watercolor and gouache on paper, signed at lower left "Kupka," archivally mounted and framed. Paper 11 1/8 x 10.25 in.; DOA 16.75 x 15.75 in. This is likely an early study for the larger oil painting, "In the Garden," which was in the collection of Kupka's greatest patron, Jindrich Waldes of Prague. In 2005, the Waldes Gallery sent the original painting for auction by Gallerie Kodl in Prague where it achieved approximately $200,000.
