Weight: 8.5lbs Condition: Very good, some minor spots on inpainting and moderate craquelure. ************************************************** Edward Wolfe (1897-1982)was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. Came to England and studied at the Slade School of Art in 1916-18. Whilst there Wolfe was invited by Nina Hamnett to join Roger Fry's Omega Workshops, with which he first exhibited in 1918. In 1920 solo exhibition at Leon Levson's Gallery in Johannesburg. Wolfe showed extensively in Britain and abroad in mixed and solo shows. Elected RA in 1972. Retrospective exhibition organized by the Arts Council in 1967 and in 1997 at Paisnel Gallery. Tate Gallery and many other public galleries hold his work. Meta: Painting, Art
