Pro Hart (Kevin Charles Hart) (1928-2006) 'Miners' - a line of ants, oil on board, signed and inscribed, 9.5cm x 21.5cm Hart was born in Broken Hill, New South Wales, and remained there all his life. He painted prolifically even as a child and continued whilst working in the mining industry and sheep farming. He was 'discovered' by a gallery owner from Adelaide, Kim Bonython in 1962 and rapidly became one of Australia's most popular artists. A great showman, he often appeared on television and travelled the world promoting his work. He was awarded an MBE for his services to art in Australia in 1976.
