작품 상세
Sketchbook page or workshop sheet with sticking sensitive drawings, two sided on early watermarked laid paper. On front a seated woman, possibly Charitas, holding or comforting a child at her breast, two woman leaning on a pedestal in the background. Brown ink over a pencil underdrawing, with some deviation from the underdrawing suggesting a certain freedom and assurance in the hand. On the backside a nude woman with arms thrown upward in a spiraling, almost torqued posture escaping from a satyr grabbing at her lower leg. Behind them, grotesque or monstrous male heads with exaggerated features (bulging eyes, bald or horned heads) likely representing satyrs, fauns, or allegorical demons. This drawing even more spontaneous but by the same hand. Quality work with elegant, fluid, and slightly elongated figures with softly rounded forms, characteristic of late Baroque, Dutch or Italian.
