작품 상세
Ink wash drawing in brown ink showing Maria Magdalena seated pointing towards here ointment jar before a standing younger figure (Jesus Christ, or an apostle?) one elder at the right, and two elder on the left amongst one crippled. This vivid drawing is most probably an early design sketch for a later painting. A visual expert authorship attribution to Jan Erasmus Quellinus (1634-1715) is based on the similarity with his other work, and supported by the 'too small heads' in relation to the figures, what is a typical feature for this artist. The drawing is on brownish paper with a watermark of three crescent moons.
