Lavora quasi esclusivamente su carta usando come mezzo la puntasecca e l'acquerello o gouache. È meglio conosciuto per le sue opere tridimensionali, chiamate costruzioni o rilievi, realizzate tagliando e piegando opere stampate per creare effetti scultorei. La maggior parte delle sue opere sono uniche o in piccolissime edizioni. Il lavoro di Kudryashov è difficile da classificare poiché è allo stesso tempo figurativo e astratto. L'artista, d'altra parte, credeva che l'ideologia fosse nemica dell'arte perché limita l'immaginazione umana. Sebbene il suo lavoro sia influenzato dal costruttivismo russo e dal suprematismo, dalle stampe Lubok e dalle icone ortodosse russe, Kudryashov non ha mai ricercato nell'arte una dimensione ideale. La prima monografia sull'artista, 'Oleg Kudryashov.
