ROSE O'NEILL (NY/MO, 1874-1944) "The First Argument", India ink on illustration board, signed lower left, undated, circa 1910, depicting a young black woman seated in a chair with her back to her kneeling beau, she has a look of complete disdain on her face as she is removing her floral corsage, he is in evening dress, with boutonniere, his hand to his forehead as his eyes roll back, in later narrow gold frame, matted and glazed, OS: 24 1/2" x 30 1/2", SS: 16 1/2" x 21". Good condition.
